Overview:
Hello Algem users!
Welcome to our bi-weekly development report, where we share the latest updates from our development team. Over the past two weeks, Danny and Alex have been working on improving the usability, efficiency, and cross-chain capabilities of Algem’s core functionalities. Here’s what they’ve accomplished.
TLDR:
In the past two weeks, Danny focused on enhancing the robustness and reliability of the Liquid Farming project through extensive testing, contract improvements, and addressing issues flagged in the recent audit. Alex focused on advancing the functionality and testing of LiquidStaking V2, implementing new features for the LiquidLoan product, and supporting cross-chain interactions.
Danny:
Week 1 (18.11)
Danny expanded the test suite for the Liquid Farming product, adding critical test cases. By using a predefined set of helper functions, he was able to streamline the testing process, making it more efficient and adaptable. Most of the tests are now interchangeable, improving maintainability. On the contract side, Danny reintroduced important parameters that were either mistakenly removed or temporarily disabled during live testing, ensuring the contract’s stability and security.
Week 2 (25.11)
During this period, Danny resolved a challenging compilation error related to the upgrades plugin. After extensive troubleshooting and double-checking configurations, he identified that manual deployment and implementation of a transparent proxy provided the solution, bypassing issues with the Upgrades + —ffi approach.
He also implemented fuzz testing in areas where it could add the most value, further improving the reliability of the code. Additionally, Danny began applying fixes from the recent audit. However, due to structural changes in the project, some fixes required more significant adjustments than simple one-line edits, making the process more complex and time-consuming.
Alex:
Week 1 (18.11)
Alex worked on integrating the LiquidStakingV2 ERC20 contract with the user interface on the Minato network. This involved rigorous testing and configuration to ensure smooth interaction between the contract and the UI. In addition to technical tasks, Alex provided support and responded to inquiries about the system.
Later in the week, Alex concentrated on testing and configuring cross-chain interactions for the xnASTR token, enabling seamless transfers between the Sepolia and Minato networks.
Week 2 (25.11)
At the beginning of the week, Alex deployed the contracts for the new LiquidLoan product on Astar network. This included deploying ALGMVesting, ALGM, and aASTR—a token integral to the LiquidLoan system. Following the deployment, Alex initiated final testing and began integrating these contracts with the user interface.
Simultaneously, work on LiquidStakingV2 continued. A test token, wASTR, was deployed to simulate Astar’s native token for testing purposes. The full configuration for cross-chain interactions via CCIP was completed, and extensive cross-chain functionality testing for LS V2 is ongoing.
Conclusion:
The past two weeks have been dedicated to enhancing the functionality, security, and cross-chain capabilities of the project. Danny’s efforts on testing, contract optimization, and audit fixes have strengthened the project’s foundation, while Alex’s advancements in LiquidStakingV2 and the deployment of the LiquidLoan product showcase significant progress in cross-chain integration and user feature development.
As always, thank you for your support, and we’re excited to bring you more updates in the coming weeks!
About Algem
Algem is a decentralized application built on the Astar Network and offers two main features: liquid staking and liquid farming. As their names suggest, these two options let ASTR holders keep their assets liquid while putting them to work. Also, the liquid staking and farming solutions let users use Algem’s liquid nASTR tokens across Astar’s Defi ecosystem to earn staking rewards and make more money. In doing so, Algem supports other Defi protocols by providing liquidity and creating a sustainable and cooperative ecosystem on the Astar Network and Polkadot.
