Development Report – Algem (Bi-Weekly Update)

Overview:

Hello Algem users!

Welcome to our bi-weekly development report, where we share the latest updates from our development team.

TLDR:

Danny developed and optimized the Liquid Staking points system, adding support for partner dApps and restructuring the code for better maintainability. Alex deployed the LiquidStaking referral system, continued LS V2 audits, redeployed key contracts after testing, plus ensured full CCIP integration and security through a multisig setup.

Danny:

Week of 20.01
Danny developed a Python script to track user balances, referrals, and interactions with partner dApps for the Liquid Staking V2 point system. This system calculates bonus points and provides users with relevant project information for both the Astar and Soneium networks. By the end of the week, the liquid staking-related portion of the script was completed.

Week of 27.01
With the introduction of partner dApps, the codebase for the Liquid Staking point system grew significantly. To improve maintainability, Danny implemented a structured configuration system, introduced main.py to manage different chains, and created multiple dedicated processors for tracking balances, referrals, and interactions with dApps such as Synstation, Kyo, and Sonex.

Alex:

Week of 20.01
Alex deployed the referral system contracts for LiquidStaking, allowing users to earn additional bonuses by completing various tasks. He also continued working with auditors on the LiquidStakingV2 audit, requesting an additional security review for final validation. Identified issues were discussed and resolved.
Additionally, Alex designed the technical architecture for the points system and initiated its implementation. Testing of the LiquidStakingV2 contracts was also carried out during the week.

Week of 27.01
Further testing of LiquidStakingV2 revealed the need to redeploy the xnASTR and LiquidStakingLayer2 contracts. These contracts were redeployed, and CCIP integration was configured accordingly. After deployment, several days were spent debugging to ensure smooth functionality.
By the end of the week, all LiquidStakingV2 parameters and configurations were successfully verified. Before launching LS V2, all administrative roles were transferred to a multisig wallet to maximize contract security.

Conclusion:

The past two weeks have been focused on refining LiquidStakingV2 for the launch and finalizing the Liquid Staking point system. Danny’s work on tracking user interactions and optimizing the point system enhances the overall staking experience. Meanwhile, Alex’s efforts in auditing, testing, and redeploying LiquidStakingV2 contracts have ensured their stability and security. These developments mark significant progress in the project’s ecosystem.

About Algem

Algem is a decentralized application built on the Astar Network and offers two main features: liquid staking and liquid farming. As their names suggest, these two options let ASTR holders keep their assets liquid while putting them to work. Also, the liquid staking and farming solutions let users use Algem’s liquid nASTR tokens across Astar’s Defi ecosystem to earn staking rewards and make more money. In doing so, Algem supports other Defi protocols by providing liquidity and creating a sustainable and cooperative ecosystem on the Astar Network and Polkadot.
