Development Report – Algem (Bi-Weekly Update)

Overview:

Hello Algem users!

Welcome to another edition of our bi-weekly development report! As always, our developers are hard at work improving various aspects of the Algem platform to ensure smooth functionality and a better user experience. Over the past two weeks, Danny and Alex have focused on integrating new features, refining existing ones, and performing thorough testing. Here’s a breakdown of their recent progress.

TLDR:

Over the past two weeks, Danny worked on integrating Sonus into our platform and refining liquidity mining features, while also restructuring the project to accommodate differences between integrated dApps like Uniswap and PancakeSwap. Alex focused on testing Liquid Staking V2, addressing tokens stuck in dApp Staking, plus enhancing the security of cross-chain transfers.

Smart Contracts Progress

Sonus Integration and Project-Wide Improvements – Danny:

During the first week, Danny focused on integrating Sonus Finance into our platform. While Algem already had vaults capable of providing concentrated liquidity, the Sonus integration required additional steps for liquidity mining. This process involved updating the V3Caller contract and adding new logic to the vault, ensuring that liquidity mining functions seamlessly alongside existing features. These changes allow users to benefit from the new liquidity mining feature while maintaining the flexibility and functionality of the vaults.

In the second week, Danny concentrated on streamlining the structure of the entire project to handle the various small differences between the dApps being integrated, such as Uniswap and PancakeSwap. These differences could include function names, extra steps for specific features, or how parameters are handled. To address these challenges, Danny reorganized the project by creating dedicated directories for each dApp, ensuring that the nuances of each do not interfere with one another. Additionally, a new testing system was developed that allows quick changes to vault initialization parameters, making it easier to test vaults with any available token pair on a given dApp.

Liquid StakingV2 Testing and Token Withdrawal – Alex:

Alex’s first week was primarily dedicated to testing the functionality of Liquid Staking V2 on the testnet. The good news is that the core functionality of the contracts worked flawlessly. Beyond this, Alex also analyzed tokens stuck within the dApp Staking system. These tokens became stuck during a transition to a new version of dApp Staking and Alex performed detailed calculations to assess the situation. The plan was to update the contracts the following week and begin the process of unlocking these tokens to ensure they are restored to their rightful owners.

In the second week, Alex continued refining the Liquid Staking V2 contracts. This involved performing updates to ensure that the balance ratios within the contract were correct, which is essential for maintaining fair and accurate staking rewards. Additionally, Alex worked on enhancing the security of cross-chain CCIP transfers, further strengthening the platform’s ability to handle these complex operations. To wrap up the week, monthly statistics were compiled for Liquid Staking balances, providing valuable insights into the system’s performance.

Conclusion:

The past two weeks have seen good progress in both the integration of new features and the refinement of existing ones across the Algem platform. Danny’s work on integrating Sonus and restructuring the project for better dApp compatibility ensures smoother operations and easier future testing. Meanwhile, Alex’s focus on LiquidStakingV2 testing and resolving issues with stuck tokens helps safeguard user funds and optimize staking processes.

As always, we are committed to enhancing Algem’s functionality and ensuring a seamless experience for our users.

Thank you for your continued support, and stay tuned for more updates in the coming weeks!

About Algem

Algem is a decentralized application built on the Astar Network and offers two main features: liquid staking and liquid farming. As their names suggest, these two options let ASTR holders keep their assets liquid while putting them to work. Also, the liquid staking and farming solutions let users use Algem’s liquid nASTR tokens across Astar’s Defi ecosystem to earn staking rewards and make more money. In doing so, Algem supports other Defi protocols by providing liquidity and creating a sustainable and cooperative ecosystem on the Astar Network and Polkadot.
